Do women have a role in the Hebrew bible and Talmud? The answer to this is a definite yes!

As a few brief examples, the Talmud will quote women on different topics, perhaps most prominent among them Bruriah, the wife of Rabbi Meir.

Also mentioned are sayings of Yalta (or Yalsa; wife of Rabbi Nachman, and daughter of the Reish Galusa), Abaya’s [step] mother (name unknown), the maidservant of Rabbi Yehuda Hanassi (quoted for linguistic knowledge), as well as conversations the sages had with certain (probably Roman) noblewomen and more.
