Junior TorahMates is a free partnership program. Students and their mentors learn any Jewish topic that interests them, once a week for around 20-30 minutes. Junior TorahMates is a part of the larger TorahMates program.

Junior TorahMates is a great learning program for Jewish kids ages 10-17 who want to learn more about Judaism and their heritage. It’s also known to be especially helpful for children who recently transferred to Jewish school and could use help acclimating and easing the transition.

It’s up to you! You can pick any Jewish topic that interests you, and we’ll find a mentor to help you with it. Hebrew reading, Torah, prayers, Jewish values and more. We’ll also work with you to pick a topic if you’re not sure what you’d like to study.

We have a large database of mentors and we’ll work to find the perfect match for you. Some of the things we look for are common interests and personality matches.

Most TorahMates study over the phone but FaceTime or Zoom are also great options. When possible, some TorahMates even study together at a local ChillZone location.

Once you’ve decided what topic you want to learn, your TorahMates coordinator will suggest a book that you’ll enjoy. We’ll supply you and your mentor with one free book per year of learning.

Issues rarely arise! But if it’s just not a match, your coordinator can find new partners for each TorahMate.

The mileage program is a great perk! You can earn prizes like airpods, games, jewelry, and more simply by logging your sessions and number of minutes learned. You can log in online, by phone, or through text.
